It was the third trip from Salt Lake City, UT to San Diego, CA for the Action Sports Retailer (ASR) Tradeshow held on September 4th-6th. The drive is around eleven hours, but well worth the trip. The show plays host to anything and everything relating to surf, swim, skate, moto-x, and now even mixed-martial arts. ASR was nice enough to donate free booth space for Stand Strong Again. Our spot in the B area of the lobby was near the skate area and the Star Bucks, so the traffic was flowing steady all three days. It’s quite the place to check out, as it usually draws a real eclectic crowd. We had some swag that was donated from a few of our sponsors that we were giving out in exchange for donations. Thanks to S4 Optics (shades and softgoods), EmergenC (health & energy water), Skull Candy (headphones) and Teton Gravity Research (softgoods & vids) for keeping the masses decked out in the latest styles. Also, thanks goes out to everyone who stopped by the booth to see what we’re all about and show their support for SSA and people with spinal cord injuries. Even Emerson “Animal” Chin stopped by to show his respect. Well, right back at you my friend. If you’re in the Salt Lake City area this weekend (Sept. 11-14), come down to the Energy Solutions Arena for the AST Dew Tour, which draws the action-sports cream of the crop for everything Skate, BMX, and FMX. This event brings a huge crowd, so come down to show your support for these guys and gals pushing the limits and defying gravity. See you all there!
